Through our combined efforts, each year the Ocala Royal Dames For Cancer Research,Inc. contribute substantially to the advancement of cancer research and education both locally and regionally. Founded in 1986 by Theresa Castro, the Ocala Royal Dames have donated in excess of $1.8 million dollars toward cancer research to date. The organization is entirely voluntary and no monies are utilized for staff or offices. We will not rest until cancer has been vanquished! Ocala Royal Dames For Cancer Research, Inc., whose members reflect a broad spectrum of talent and leadership, is composed of women who are creative, farsighted and oriented toward the betterment of the community, as well as dedicated to the welfare of mankind. As a living endowment to cancer research and education, members of the Royal Dames pledge $2,500 for life membership, payable over a period of 10 years. New members are proposed by a Royal Dame, who sponsors the application in the organization.
